Background:

When I finished high school, all I wanted was a motorcycle.  I found that the most logical way for me to acquire a motorcycle was to move out of my mom’s house and get a job. For me, the fastest way to accomplish this goal was to join the military.  I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in December 2001.  By the time I had enough money and credit to buy a motorcycle it was early 2003.  I bought the first 2003 Ninja ZX6R to hit the showroom in Jacksonville, Arkansas.  After an endless stream of traffic tickets and having my riding privileges revoked by the Air Force, I decided to start riding exclusively on the track.

I joined an endurance team in 2005, which was a waste of time.  I think I only rode twice out of 3 race weekends for a total of 45 minutes.  In 2006 I had plans to race the entire year but instead was sent to Iraq for a tour of duty.  I came back, raced one race and blew my engine up.  I raced nearly the entire 2007 season as a novice, and was again blocked by another blown engine.  I was, however, worthy enough (apparently) to earn an expert license for my efforts during the 2007 season.  During all of this I managed to squeeze in a few Pridmore Star School weekends, graduate college with an A.S and B.S in Business Management, finish my 6-year enlistment in the Air Force, and move to California.

Primary Goals:

Build a solid racing foundation to be competitive at the pro level.

2009 Goals:

Race the entire 2009 AFM season.  Place within top 10 consistently.  Keep pushing myself to the next level.  Learn the ways of the GSX-R1000.

Background:  I got my first dirt bike for my 9th Birthday and rode on and off for fun until I could afford to start racing.  I have owned 23 motorcycles since I started riding.  I have been road racing for 2 years in addition to making an effort to keep a fair amount of off-road racing on my schedule to keep me in tune with both genres of racing and even some some supermoto also.  As far as I know I am the only competitor in the southern california racing organizations that does this.  My current stable of bikes includes:  05 GSXR 600 Race Bike, 05 Aprilia Tuono Factory Streetbike, 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250 Race Bike, 2009 KTM 250XC Race Bike, 2001 Honda XR650 Dual-Sport, 2004 KTM 525 SMR, Kawasaki 750 Stand-Up Jet-Ski.
I also enjoy jet-sking, snow-skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, paragliding, kite-surfing, and adventure travel preferably involving any of the preceding, and weight training.  I would like to learn Yoga and B.A.S.E. jumping with a wing suit. I enjoy spectating Mixed Martial Arts/UFC fights!

Background:

My first motorcycle was a Yamaha YZ100cc, two stroke dirtbike that got when I was 14 years old. My parents were both physicians so you can imagine what I had to do to get that bike. We lived in West Virginia at the time so I had a great time riding trails in the mountains and getting very muddy. I had a go cart before I got my bike but I was always down at the local Yamaha dealership sitting on the bikes, reading Dirtbike Magazine, and plastering my room with pictures of dirtbikes. It wasn't until I kick started my own bike that I stopped nagging my parents!

I got my first motorcycle when I was a junior in college- a Kawasaki EX 500, a perfect first bike. I scared myself a few times and in New Hampshire there was, and still is, no helmet law! I moved to California and lived with two roommates who both had roadbikes. One roomate was also a racer in the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) so I got a good understanding of what racing was all about. I thought I had lived through my motorcycle "phase" but it didn't take long until I got a roadbike - a Honda VTR 1000. Soon after I signed up for my first track day at Infineon Raceway and that's where the bug really bit me for riding on the track. I was a die hard track junkie and finally started racing in 1999. My weapon of choice was, and still is, a Suzuki GSXR 750. I love everything about the bike and it's a perfect for me. It's been years of hard work, dedication, drive, and sacrifice that has led to my rise in the AFM. I appreciate everyone who has helped get me to where I am today.

Primary Goals:

Continue to improve my ranking in the AFM, improve my laptimes, win more races, and have fun.

2009:

I will be racing my 2007 GSXR 750 prepared by M Racing.

Background:
I grew up riding horses, and competing in Rodeos.  I decided to start riding motorcycles in 2001, and started off on a 1979 Honda CX 500 cruiser.  Then awarded myself with a 2002 R6 as an early college graduation present.  I feel fortunate that my new riding friends at school turned me onto the race track early on.  I got my R6 the day after Thanksgiving in 2001, and did my first track day with Trackdaz.com in April 2002.
I decided to start racing at the end of 2002, and raced off and on ever since.  My first race was at Loudon RoadRace Series in New Hampshire, as I had just moved to Pennsylvania for my first job.  That evolved into the WERA Nationals with Brad Armstrong in 2003 until we moved back to California.
In 2005 I got into WERA West and have been happy as a can be ever since :-)

Primary Goals:
Have FUN and continue to improve.  2009 Goals: Top 5 in the Solo 20 and consistent finishes.

2009 Season:
For this year, I'm going to race my 06 R1, which has been my street bike since 2006.  As a novice, I'm excited to try a liter bike without any of the pressure of racing against AMA regulars!
